Northumbria is one of the largest universities in the UK with 34,000 students from 132 countries, offering around 400 programmes. It is currently the fastest rising UK university in the Times Higher Education University Rankings, 2020. The University has invested significantly to create outstanding facilities, such as a £30 million sport centre, one of the UK’s top University libraries and new workshops and labs for Computer Science, Engineering and Architecture.
Many fields of study including Arts, Architecture, Business, Computing, Design, Engineering, Health, Law, Psychology, Sport and more are offered. The courses have a clear professional focus including practical experience such as working in specialist labs, undertaking a business consultancy or working in our law clinic. Outside of class students have access to a lot of “extra” opportunities such as placements, careers advice, sport, volunteering and study abroad.
The university has degree course accreditation from nearly 50 professional bodies and works with more than 500 businesses such as Nike, IBM, Nissan, and Proctor & Gamble. 94% of graduates are in work or further education within 6 months of graduation.
A great way to meet like-minded students is by joining the university’s award-winning societies, and with over 100 there is something for everyone. Alternatively, you can join one of many sports teams as the university is consistently placed within the top 10 for sports.
A number of our partner universities award both automatic scholarships for EU students and academic scholarships from £5,000 to £22,000.
Since 2016, UniLink has managed to obtain scholarships for students worth more than 72 million crowns.
The main campus is in Newcastle-upon-Tyne which is regularly voted the UK’s most popular student city. Newcastle is a small but lively city which has a huge amount to offer in terms of arts, entertainment, heritage, music, cafes and restaurants.
The city has an international airport which is only 5 miles from the city centre. Newcastle is one of the cheapest places in the UK to live and University accommodation is guaranteed for new students in their first year.

Studuju na Northumbria University letos už čtvrtým rokem. Bakalářský diplom mám ve Filmové a televizní produkci a Magistra teď dělám v Arts Managementu. Northumbria University je skvělá ve vítaní zahraničních studentů. Jako Čech/Palestinec jsem byl všemi kolem přátelsky přivítán, poznal jsem spoustu nových lidí ze všech koutů světa, naučil se být samostatný a získal jsem spoustu vědomostí a dovedností, které bych v Česku nezískal.
Studia na Northumbrii si budu navždy vážit, jelikož mě naučilo být praktický a umět aplikovat nabyté vědomosti do reálného života. Newcastle je navíc skvělé město plné zábavy, kin, kulturních aktivit a rozptýlení, které se občas po zkouškách hodí.

Na Northumbria University jsem vystudovala magisterský obor Business with International Management, který mi poskytl všeobecný přehled v poli businessu, s důrazem na nutnost mezikulturního pochopení, porozumění a spolupráce. Prostřednictvím spousty týmových projektů, prezentací, simulací a meetingů mě můj velice intenzivní program donutil uvědomit si, jak důležitá je efektivní komunikace, týmová práce, vzájemná pomoc a pochopení, ale také svědomitá píle a práce každého jednotlivce. Během studia jsem potkala spoustu jedinečných inspirativních lidí, na jejichž gaučích v různých koutech světa budu už vždycky vítána, a celá zkušenost mi v neposlední řadě pomohla poodhalit své silné stránky a pracovat na těch slabých, jít za své limity, spoléhat se sama na sebe a umět být na sebe pyšná.
Je těžké si představit lepší místo pro můj naprosto báječný rok strávený studiem, než právě Northumbrii, novou, moderní a praktickou univerzitu, nebo Newcastle – živé, dynamické a rušné město na severu Anglie, kousíček od Skotska, ráj každého studenta, které skýtá rozmanité možnosti studentského vyžití, nádhernou přírodu všude okolo a nezapomenutelnou atmosféru, po které se mi dodnes stýská.
