With over 8,000 acres of parks and open space, Birmingham is one of the greenest cities in the UK. All faiths are well represented in Birmingham, with more than 650 churches, mosques, synagogues and temples across the city.
Momentálně studuji třetím rokem Ancient and Medieval History (Starověkou a středověkou historii) na University of Birmingham. Jsem velmi ráda, že jsem mohla poslední tři roky strávit na této univerzitě. Velkou výhodou této univerzity je, že je to kampusová univerzita a všude se dá lehce dojít, ať už máte přednášky kdekoliv. V létě se dá krásně vyhřívat a trávit čas s přáteli na tzv. Green Heart ve středu kampusu. Na okraji kampusu se taky nachází velké Sport & Fitness centrum, kde si každý najde to své. Dále můžete být součástí různých societies (klubů), já osobně jsem byla jsem byla součástí International Association nebo také Gluten Free Society.
Univerzita sice není přímo v centru Birmingham, ale je jednoduché se tam dostat buď vlakem přímo od univerzity nebo autobusem za 1 libru. Samotné centrum sice není plné historických budov, ale Victoria square a Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery stojí za prohlédnutí. Před Vánoci si tu taky konají velké vánoční trhy, které stojí za to navštívit.
